Holiday Party Essentials10 December 2014
During the holiday season I really enjoy sitting at home wearing a tacky Christmas jumper while watching tons of my favourite Christmas films. As a matter of fact the holiday season also means lots of fun parties, we are often invited to friends and family or are attending beautiful festive dinners. As much as I love my Christmas jumpers and no makeup days, there's nothing more fun than getting all glammed up for a Christmas party - here are some of my personal essentials
I usually stick to the same foundation routine for evenings out - first of all you want to use a good primer that will help your foundation stay in place all night without getting shiny or greasy. I tend to reach for the Clarins Instant Smooth Primer (20€) with added tanning benefits (review here) as for foundation I quite enjoy using the Artdeco Rich Treatment Foundation (15€). It applies like a dream, leaving my skin looking even and perfected while adding a lovely subtle glow. I much prefer glowing and radiant looking skin for this time of the year instead of an all matte base. This foundation is perfect for achieving exactly that, it's very hydrating and makes your skin look healthy and glowing.
Moving on to eyebrows - The Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade (20€) in Dark Brown is my go-to brow product for night outs. This product will give your brows a very natural texture and definition without looking too fake. It's very easy to apply and will stay on your brows all night without smudging - no brow gel needed!
To make my eyeshadow last all night long I always use the Lorac Behind The Scenes Eyes Primer (10€). My favourite eyeshadow palette for creating christmassy party looks is hands down the Naked2 Palette (45€). This palette includes so many amazing festive shades, they're easy to blend and the pigmentation is awesome. I mostly concentrate on my lips though and my go to lip colour for the holiday season is *drumroll* red! I love red lips and my favourite red shade is by Mac called Russian Red.
Another few staple products include Lush's Big Shampoo (18€) for achieving beautiful voluminous hair and my new favourite fragrance La Vie Est Belle by Lancome. Two coats of glittery red nail polish by Essie in the shade Toggle To The Top and I'm ready to go. I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know some of your Holiday Party Staples.
