Hey guys, I just had the best day ever at the beach in St. Raphael. Now that most tourists (except me) headed back home, moi, my cousin, and his friends have decided to spend the morning/afternoon at the beach! I'm not gonna lie, it took me a really long time but I think I finally know how to do beaches so I wanted to share my tips & essentials to have the best beach day ever!

BRING YOUR ESSENTIALS
Spending all day in the sun and in the water is going to require certain products and things you should always have on hand. Let's start with the most obvious one - sunscreen. We should always wear sunscreen, no matter the season or the weather. I like to use a separate sunscreen on my face because I don't like the sticky feeling you get with regular body SPF. The Hawaiian Tropic Face SPF 30 is perfect for that, it sinks into the skin immediately and doesn't leave a greasy residue. I feel like everybody loves Hawaiian Tropic sunscreens, they smell absolutely incredible too! Of course you can't forget a beach towel, a nice pair of shades (or maybe just some cheap ones from the supermarket), a huge bottle of water and I also like to bring a hat because it shields the sun from your face and neck.

LET YOUR SKIN BREATHE
Now, I personally never wear makeup when I'm going to the beach. The salt water provides countless health benefits, it improves acne, skin smoothness, dandruff, and more. Combine the salt water with sand & sun and it's practically like going to a spa - and let's be honest when you wear makeup to the beach it will get messed up or sweat off anyways!


BRING SPORTS EQUIPMENT
Getting active on the beach is probably my favourite thing to to, 1. you'll get a nice tan, 2. you'll feel absolutely amazing afterwards - and gosh I love Beach Volleyball! Like, I'm a total noob but still, it's amazing for increasing your aerobic capacity, tones and shapes the body and it really does boost your mood! 

BRING SOMETHING TO READ
Catching up on some magazines or reading a book is something I really enjoy while at the beach. I'm not the biggest bookworm but for some weird reason, I really enjoy reading books when I'm on holiday! Two books that I loved reading lately are John Green - Paper Towns and Sophie Kinsella - Confessions of a Shopaholic.


TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN
While sunscreen is always a good idea, one of the best ways to keep your skin healthy and glowy is to not neglect your skin after you've stepped out of the sun. I think it's so important to moisturize your body after a long day in the sun, I like to use the Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Lotion, mainly because of the great smell but it's also extremely hydrating and soothing. I also find that when I moisturize regularly, my tan lasts a lot longer!

RELAX
Like I said, now that most tourists headed back home, it's extremely quiet and relaxing on the beach. There's just no place quite as beautiful or pleasant - you can just completely unplug which is good for your mind, body & soul. A short walk on the beach is actually known to decrease stress and help you reset!
