Beauty Resolutions for 2019

1. Get regular beauty treatments
There's nothing better than getting a professional facial to maintain healthy skin and this year I really want to make an effort to get them more regularly. I always get great results with Microdermabrasion and I also loved getting a Hydra Facial last year. Also, can you believe that I never ever got my nails done at a salon? I feel like I'm the only person in the world by now. I'm not into gel nails or shellac but I think it would be nice to get a simple manicure from time to time. Of course beauty treatments aren't something everyone needs but it does make me feel so good and it's nice to do something for yourself once in a while and enjoy a little bit of me-time.

2. Take a closer look at ingredients
I have spoken about this topic on my blog before and I'm actually planning to write a more in depth post about it soon. It's actually quite shocking how many nasty ingredients are still being used in cosmetics. I got rid of so many products, after carefully inspecting each item using a website called codecheck. I think it's so important to actually know what we put on our faces on a daily basis. In 2019 I want to ban all products that contain microplastic, irritants such as fragrance, pore clogging ingredients (this list in particular stretches out to infinity) and obviously any toxic ingredients from my makeup and skincare routine.

3. Cut down my makeup collection
I feel extremely lucky that I get to work with so many amazing brands and therefore get to try the newest beauty products to share with you guys. However, this year I want to get to a stage where every item in my makeup collection gets used and doesn't just sit around in my drawers waiting to go bad. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't possibly use up all of the products I get sent so I'm making it my mission to only keep the items that I absolutely love and will use on a regular basis. All the other amazing products will go to friends, charity or will be used for future giveaways on my social media channels, so everything gets the love it deserves.

Let me know your beauty resolutions for 2019 in the comments below.

  4. A project pan and low-buy are the two themes for me in regards to my beauty resolutions, as well as setting up some guidlines for my low-buy to follow.

  5. I love this post, I definitely have to check out the website for the ingredients. I hate how we don't know what we put on our skin anymore. Do you know the Weleda Skin Food cream? It is all natural and I am sure that you would love it!

  9. I mean point 3 is one for a lot of us! It's difficult to let go of things, especially when you've paid for them... but if you're not using it, then why keep it!?

  11. All three are amazing tips! Number 1 and number 2 are especially very useful when it comes to make-up. As for number 3, I always try to not keep something that I don't use.

  12. Uh ich finde deine Vorsätze sehr inspirierend! Ich sollte dringend mal meine Sachen ausmisten – und auch wirklich nur noch das behalten, was ich brauche. :)

  13. I love these resolutions! I'm getting a facial on Thursday and am so excited- I agree, they're so great and beneficial. I've been working on using up products too but I totally relate, sometimes my makeup drawers are just overflowing- I'm going to gift some too, it's just such a shame you can't give them to any charities once they've been opened even if barely used!

  15. Loved reading about your beauty resolutions, girl! Mine is to definitely use the skincare & makeup I have before getting more. I am trying my best to make sure I don't waste many products. Also, another one is to remember to "treat" myself to a mask and a proper skincare pamper night every now and then :)

  16. I totally agree with you about ingredients. In general, I'm trying really to be more mindful of brands that use sneaky ingredients like microplastics.

  17. You absolutely have to get your nails done! Even if it's a simply file and polish, it feels so nice to be pampered and have someone else do your nails. Even better is a pedicure, because then you get to soak your feet in those tub things, haha.

  23. They are great resolutions to have! :) I haven't thought about any beauty related resolutions, but I did a big clean out of the bathroom cabinets and I definitelyw ant to use up more of those little sample sizes of things I always seem to get even though I don't buy a lot of makeup!

Hope that you are having a good week so far :) Such a hot day here today, we are all waiting for this heatwave to break!
